Lifelong Swimming ‘60&abouts’ Photo Exhibition
Lifelong Swimming ‘60&abouts’ Photo Exhibition was inaugurated  at the Bruno Bianchi Swimming Pool in Trieste to celebrate the results of the LLS project and promote the benefits of swimming and the value of physical activity and sport in healthy ageing .The exhibition brings together photos by John Gubertini and features moments of sport, wellness and joy and portraits of people who took part in the “450mix relays” during the Final Meeting Day of the Lifelong Swimming Project.

The exhibition will be located in the hall of the Bruno Bianchi Swimming Pool and open to the 900 people who regularly use the pool facility. The exhibition will be open until the end of March.

Pills of Lunga Vita Attiva – Cycle of seminars to “train” for a long future
“Pills” for a long active life restart with a dense and interesting new program. The first pill is “pink” and is dedicated to” breast cancer prevention at all ages”. In October the pill focuses on posture: Elena Nardi will introduce the “Importance of postural gymnastics”. In January Franco Del Campo will speak about “The art of slow swimming and meditation”. February is dedicated to the “Esthetics of age: feeling beautiful at 60&abouts”. In March Bruna Scaggiante will speak about “The virtues of extra virgin olive oil”.In April the psychologist Federico Sandri will introduce the topic “Auto hypnosis” . The program will be concluded with the seminary by Gianfranco Orlando on “Physical Activity for health and longevity”.

Lifelong Swimming 60&abouts
The final H2OpenDay of the EU Project Lifelong Swimming took place on September 17th. The main objective of project was to promote the value of sports and the benefits of water activities in healthy and active ageing. The LIFELONG SWIMMING 60&abouts Meeting was held at the Bruno Bianchi Swimming Pool and presented an original formula which joined a sports event to seminar sessions and workshops on Healthy and Active Ageing themes.Over 250 people took part in the Meeting and 150 senior swimmers registered in the non-competitive 450 Relays. Teams come from nine different European countries (Spain, Turkey, Malta, Switzerland, Portugal, Slovenia, Croatia and Austria) and from many Italian regions.
The eldest swimmer registered was Roberto Alberiche Navarro a Spanish swimmer aged 85 who swam with many senior swimmers both beginners, master swimmers and former national and even Olympic Games Swimmers like Lalla Cecchi, Olympic Games in Rome and Tokyo, Franco Del Campo, Mexico City, Gianni Minervini Los Angeles, Seul and Barcellona. All participants took part in the Final LIFELONG SWIMMING Conference to celebrate the results of the day and the Lifelong Swimming Project. Lorenza Venturi, representing the Italian National ERASMUS PLUS Program presented the important results achieved by the Erasmus Plus Program

European Conference Moving Age –Trieste
On May 20th – 22nd Trieste hosted the European Conference  on Healthy and Active Ageing “MOVING AGE”.The Conference was promoted by Leader Comunicare Interculture  in collaboration with  Region Friuli Venezia Giulia,ISCA (International Sport and Culture Association)Association Lunga Vita Attiva and FIN (Italian Swimming Federation) FEDERAL Centre Trieste. The first day of the Conference was held in the Regional Palace where European  and regional organizations working in the field of Heathy and Active Ageing had the opportunity to present and compare their programs.Over 100 participants took part in the event which hosted over 40 delegates from 16 European countries (Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Kosovo, Macedonia, Serbia, Slovenia) and from the Region FVG.On the second and third day, the Conference continued at the Bruno Bianchi swimming pool facility. The EU project Lifelong Swimming was presented and many workshops were organized on water sports activities and tasting sessions

Conference “Towards a welfare system of the third age”
Dr Ariella Cuk was invited to present our initiatives, organized in collaboration with Association Lunga Vita Attiva, on “Healthy and Active Ageing” at the Conference organized by the Municipality of Trieste and Health Agency “Towards a welfare system for the third age” Verso un sistema di welfare per la terza età”. In an ageing society, healthy and active lifestyles, based on regular physical activity, healthy nutrition and relationships are the best tools to improve quality of life. Move Congress - Copenhagen
Leader Comunicare Interculture took part in ISCA Move Congress organized on 5th to 7th November in Copenhagen. It has been a fantastic opportunity to learn about new initiatives and European best practices in promoting physical activity and healthy and active lifestyles. H2OpenDay in Trieste: A special day at the swimming “BIANCHI”
The first H2OpenDay 2015 was organized by FIN Federal Centre on July 11th in Trieste in the swimming pool Bruno Bianchi which was open free for over 60s. It was a fantastic day crowded with people who wanted to enjoy swimming and water sports and try the different tasting sessions. The Day was opened by an open air seminar on the theme "Living a Long Active Life: Instructions for Use". Andrea Di Lenarda Director of the Vascular Centre ASS1, Gianfranco Orlando, doctor and Mario Bertolini physiotherapist and personal trainer gave their contributions on the subject. The numerous audience showed great interest in the subject, the project developments and the role of sport in active ageing. Before taking part in the active part of the OpenDay all participants could test their vitals at the Health Point organised along the pool in collaboration with the Cardio Vascular Centre and then join the tasting sessions in the four swimming styles and aqua gym, senior sincronette, senior water polo and rescue basics under the supervision of qualified FIN coaches. The best moment of the day was the FantasticOver60s x 50 non-competitive Relay. Almost 100 male and female swimmers took part in the relay with an age comprised between 60 and 88. Each swimmer swam in his/her favourite style: crawl, breaststroke, backstroke and even butterfly and at his/her own pace. The event ended with a final "Big Splash" crowded dive into the blue swimming pool and the promise to meet again next year.

Lifelong Swimming Project
Leader Comunicare Interculture designed, in collaboration with Italian Swimming Federation, the Lifelong Swimming Project which was selected among the best Eu projects of the Erasmus+ Sport Program 2014. The aim of the project, which will last two years, is to promote the benefits of swimming in Healthy Ageing and increase the participation of seniors to water sports activities. Leader is in charge of project communication. Project partners are FIN (Italian Swimming Federation), LEN (League of European Water Sports Federations). Spanish Swimming Federation, Turkish Swimming Feederation, ASA of Malta, the University of Coimbra and the associated partnerLunga Vita Attiva. The project has launched an awareness campaign on the benefits of physical activities and swimming in Active Ageing through the organizagion of H2OpenDays in partner countries offering free “tasting sessions” of water sports to enthuse more and more seniors to water physical activities. Leader Comunicare Interculture took part in the European Summit on Healthy Ageing on 9th-10thMarch 2015 in Brussels. It was an interesting experience and an opportunity to learn about Silver Economy new trends presented during the Plenary sessions, 32 workshops and the fair featuring over 20 startups.

Languages meet Sport at YELL2 Conference
“Languages meet sport” was presented at the YELL2 International Conference, which took place in Birmingham (UK) from 2nd to 5th October 2013.
The conference brought together Educators, Trainers and Policy Makers and featured European  Best Practices in language learning.
Ariella Cuk, coordinator of the Project Languages meet Sport, gave a keynote presentation on the three years experience of the project (2009-2010-2012).

Healthy Ageing and Master Swimming
The project  Healthy Ageing and Master Swimming was presented at the Arena Masters European Championships, held in Eindhoven from 1stto 8thSeptember 2013.
On September 5ththe project was launched at a special event open to the master community. The program featured a Seminar on Sports Nutrition and the benefits of swimming in active ageing, the vision of the video “The World of Master Swimming” filmed during the Italian Master Swimming Championship in Trieste and was concluded by a lively discussion and a “Healthy Aperitif”.

Healthy Ageing and Master Swimming
The project Healthy Ageing and Master Swimming was presented at the Italian Master Swimming Championship held in Trieste on 1stto 7thJuly 2013.
The launch of the project was very successful: over 300 master swimmers took part in the in the activities offered by theprogram: The Seminar “Lifeling Swimming” was organised in collaboration with the Trieste Centro Federale Fin, the Cardiovascular Dep. ASS1 and the Sports Medicine Centre; at the “Health Point” stand, master swimmers could check up their healthy parameters; and senior swimmers where interviewed for the video “The world of Master Swimming”.

Languages meet sport Festival for Regional and Minority Languages
“Languages meet sport Festival for Regional and Minority Languages” was the third European event on the dissemination of projects that combine the learning of European languages and cultures with sport. It was held on 19thand 20thOctober 2012 in Udine – Friuli Venezia Giulia.
The project, supported by the Life Long Learning Program, aims to give a contribution to multilingualism through sport among young people.

Healthy Ageing and Master Swimming
Our project “Healthy Ageing and Master Swimming” has been listed in the Learning Partnerships supported by the LLP-GRUNDTVIG Program. The aim of the project is to run a campaign promoting the value of active living through swimming and to enthuse more and more seniors to this sport.
Thecampaign will launch a series of “open days” during which swimming pools in the United Kingdom, the Netherlands and Italy (project partner countries) are open to the community for a day to offer many swimming and water activities and meetings, seminars and exhibitions on the theme of healthy and active ageing.

Comenius, ICT and Languages Projects’ Meeting
We took part in the Comenius, ICT and Languages Projects’ Meeting organized by the Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive which took place in Brussels Agency  on 16th and 17th February .
All Coordinators  of the Comenius, ICT  and Languages projects selected for the year  2012 were invited.
During the Meeting the Political Framework and Education and Training 2020 policy was presented together with an interesting contribution on project promotion and valorisation tools and important information to help project coordinators manage contractual and financial issues.
During the Projects’ Meeting we met all 2012 project coordinators and started a common network.

L&S 3 - Festival of Regional and Minority Languages
We are extremely proud to announce that our project “L&S - Festival for Regional and Minority Languages” has been selected by the Executive Agency of the EU Commission Culture, Education, Training and Sport and has been listed in the Life Long Learning Program.
The
aim of the project is to valorise the results of the previous “Languages meet Sport” 1 and 2 projects and transfer them to the area of regional and minority languages.
The Festival will collect European best practices promoting regional and minority languages through sport and physical activities. The Festival will feature a conference, workshops and sport, language and games sessions and will take place in October 2012 in the region Friuli Venezia Giulia. 150 years since the buiding of the Italian State – Conference in Vienna
We were invited by the Italy-Austria Association in Vienna to present a lecture celebrating 150 years since the building of the Italian State.
The presentation by prof Franco Del Campo was entitled
“The making of the Italian Constitution: the constitutional miracle: June 2nd, 1946 – December 27th 1947.
It took place in the building of the Austrian Parliament in front of a qualified audience of Italians and Austrians, who attended with great interest and participation.

Expolingua Portugal
We have been invited by the European Commission to present our projects “Languages meet Sport” and “Swim the Language” at EXPOLINGUA Portugal.
The Fair of Languages and Cultures was held in Lisbon on 3
rd – 5th November. Parallel to the fair, which featured expositors from many education and cultural organisations, EXPOLINGUA presented a rich program of conferences, seminars offering an overview of the recent developments in the area of languages and communication.
In front of a wide audience of students and teachers we presented our projects promoting language learning through sports and concluded by singing and dancing all together “Keep the ball rolling” a song which invites people to learn languages, break down barriers an meet the citizens of the world.

L&S 2 - Intercultural Dialogue for Inclusion
The second European Conference “Languages meet sport” 2010 and the “L&S Challenge for Inclusion” confirmed the value of a project that combines language learning and passion for sport. The event had an extraordinary success of audience and high media visibility. L&S friendship tournament “Challenge for Inclusion” was a festival of languages and sport: children of different languages and cultural backgrounds met in the wonderful Piazza Unità d’Italia in Trieste and played using the universal language of sport.
The closing event witnessed the presence of Francesco Toldo, former

Grundtvig Contact Seminar
We have been invited by the Italian National Agency to the Grundtvig Contact Seminar organised at Villasimius in Sardinia from 6th – 10th October. The objective of the seminar was to foster Learning Partnerships among organisations working in the field of adult education.
More than 80 delegates from all European countries took part in the event: we were divided into working groups with objective of developing future projects in the area of non formal education.

We were invited by the Italian Association of Medical Oncology to make a presentation in the Conference “Diversities in

Oncology” which took place in Verona. Prof Ariella Cuk’s presentation was entitled “Language differences in medical communication” highlighted the potential language barriers generated by cultural differences.

Languages meet Sport
Our project Languages meet Sport has been selected and entered into the Life Long Learning Programme of the European Union.
The objective of the project is to organise the first European Conference on Languages and Intercultural Dialogue through Sports. The Conference wants to provide a forum for all those who work in the field of education, culture, media, sports and public institutions and in this way offer an opportunity for the participants to meet the representatives of the EU Commission and Agencies and discuss new actions to be taken at local and national levels.

The aim of the conference is to highlight how sport can play an important role in language learning and intercultural dialogue. Sport communicates a sense of belonging and observance of rules and can therefore contribute to the understanding and appreciation of cultural differences.

Languages meet sport Conference will be held in Trieste (Italy) on 16th and 17th October, 2009.

Projects’ Meeting a Bruxelles
We were invited to attend the Projects’ Meeting organised by the ’Executive Agency of DG of Education and Culture which took place in Brussels on 9th and 10th February 2009.

The meeting was very successful and it served as an important networking session for the 300 project coordinators and representatives of the EU Commission and Executive Agency. The EU Year of Innovation and Creativity 2009 was presented at the meeting, project administration and financial procedures were discussed and communication strategies for the promotion of the selected projects were presented.
The Conference Languages meet Sport was welcomed heartily by the audience when it was presented during the afternoon workshop sessions.
